Neiman Marcus—Refreshed English and Asian Language Websites

February 2016

Neiman Marcus (NM) Hawaii asked PRTech to update its English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean websites to reflect contemporary fashion trends and design and to enhance the online consumer experience—especially for IPC (International Point Club) members. NM wanted its customers to be able to navigate the websites with ease, view, and interact with them from any digital device. In addition, NM wanted more reporting functions for the IPC program to allow consumers to log in and manage points and store management to check customers’ purchase histories and points.

During the development and design process to upgrade the Asian language websites, PRTech used the latest technology to make the new sites responsive and interactive. This included adding a navigation bar so consumers can scroll through the sites with ease. In addition, PRTech recommended including enhanced security for the IPC program as part of the upgrade.

PRTech assembled a team of multilingual, marketing and technology specialists to redesign and update the existing English and Asian language websites. The team consisted of native Japanese and Chinese designers, copywriters, coders, and programmers. The team worked closely with PacRim Marketing Group’s Integrated Marketing Services team which represents the Neiman Marcus client. PacRim Marketing Group, a global marketing communications firm, is the parent company of PRTech, also dedicated to helping clients increase share and spend of the Asian International Traveler market.

To create the responsive and more intuitive website, PRTech used HTML 5 and CSS 3 and IPC on .net. The new site has customized documents and a store directory as well as the loyalty program.

The new sites with contemporary design can be viewed optimally on all digital devices and are simple to navigate, giving the Asian consumer a better online experience.

“The websites give our international customers an enjoyable way to learn about our brand, products, and activities,” said Amy Tomita, PR Manager at Neiman Marcus Hawaii. “The contemporary and intuitive websites reflect our commitment to providing customers the highest level of service with Aloha.”
