Honolulu, Hawaii—Desert Island Restaurants, LLC, http://desertislandrestaurants.com is making it easier for franchisees and potential employees to learn more about its brand, restaurants, and opportunities online. The company, which includes Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Macaroni Grill, Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill and franchises in Hawaii and North America, has launched a redesigned and upgraded website as part of its rebranding.

Using the latest technologies and social media tactics, the website developed and managed by PRTech, LLC, conveys Desert Island Restaurants’ brand image as well as that of each of its individual restaurants. The new site includes vivid photos of each restaurant and its logo, video of television commercials, social media links, and high definition and scalable graphics that retain color and crispness on any digital device. Interactive maps take viewers to any Desert Island restaurant in the United States, showcasing the property, offering online reservations, and detailed employment and franchisee information.

“We completely restructured the site’s navigation, using IA (Information Architecture) and concepts of subpages, so viewers can drill down to specific information—whether it be the company’s vision, mission, community outreach, or restaurant locations and contact information for reservations, franchisee, and career opportunities,” said Jon Kaneshiro, Chief Technology Officer at PRTech. “The site is RDW (Responsive Design Website) ready and uses app icons to fit all generation iOS and Android devices.”

Other leading edge technology solutions PRTech used in redesigning and upgrading the website include Symbol Fonts, which decrease loading time for recognized logos such as Facebook and Twitter. State-of-the-art programming languages and formats HTML/HTML, CSS, and JQuery were used. For easy updating, the website was developed with a CMS (Content Management System).

PRTech had the experience and was familiar with the brand, having developed interactive English and Japanese websites for Ruth’s Chris, integrating with Open Table (English) and PRTech's multilingual online concierge staff (Japanese) for online restaurant reservations, Facebook so guests can share their experiences, and a newsletter system to update customers about the latest discounts and offerings.

“The updated and interactive website is attracting more views and inquiries about our restaurants and franchise opportunities,” said Emi Espinda, Marketing Director at Desert Island Restaurants. “As usual, PRTech was a pleasure to work with, used state of the art technologies and marketing expertise, and completed the project on time and within budget.”

PRTech continues to support Ruth's Chris Hawaii through ongoing website maintenance and working with the Ruth's Chris Hawaii team on online marketing campaign creative.

Desert Island Restaurants currently operates five Ruth’s Chris Steak House throughout the Hawaiian Islands and two Romano’s Macaroni Grill restaurants located on Oahu and the Big Island. The company launched the Thaifoon – Taste of Asia concept with locations in Arizona, Southern California, and Utah. They opened their first franchised location of Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill in Colorado, followed by locations in Arizona, Idaho, Alaska, Nevada, and Texas, and Minnesota. All five Desert Island Restaurant brands have garnered success and acclaim by winning numerous accolades and become popular venues for visitors and residents.
